Lunch Lap II

Another month, another lunch lap ride. I had a ton of fun on the last one so when it was time again, I was all in. The day started off a bit different. A group of us decided to meet up at Floyd & Blackie's in Cramerton, NC for Bikes and Coffee. They have this event every 1st Sunday of the month from 9-11am. We had a nice ride over there and there were a good number of bikes that showed up.

After folks got filled up with food and coffee, we made our way over to the start of the Lunch Lap ride over at Sambuco Barber Company.
I need to mention the weather. The day before and evening, the skies let loose. Tons of rain. When I got up this am, the roads were wet at 8am but skies were slowly clearing. With that in mind, when we got the starting point, there were not a lot of bikes there like last time. In fact, they expected a low turn out due to the previous days weather.
We got there just a bit before 11. They usually leave around noon. Around 11:30, bikes began to arrive. In fact, we ended up with 48 bikes in total. Not a bad turn out at all!

Meet up and pre-ride meeting at Sambuco's before we head out
The ride todays was going to end up at a place called Higher Ark. This is a dispensary. The owner is also an avid motorcyclist AND the place has a really nice outdoor deck. Not only that, since it was May 4th, we were going to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with free tacos and margaritas. The original plan was to go the Mexican restaurant right across the street buy with the nice weather, change of plans.
So we got all lined up and headed out. One thing I do like about this ride is that there is a group of about 6 guys that block the lights to ensure the entire group stays together. They do an excellent job of this. Also, the roads we take are all nice curvy and scenic. It makes for quite an enjoyable ride.

We arrived at Higher Ark and bikes just kept filtering in. There was plenty of parking. Once we got settled, we filled out plates, got a drink, and just hung out talking to folks and looking at their rides. It was such a gorgeous day, we decided to head out to the Thirsty Beaver taking a ton of back roads (took us 90 mins to get there). Another great ride for the day!
At the beaver, we got to see a lot of our friends and had a great afternoon. Overall it was a VERY long day. I started at 8am and got back home at 7:30. It was worth it since I got in 3 nice rides and was able to hang out with a wonderful group of people.
