Myrtle Beach Spring Rally 2025

I had not planned on attending this years spring rally. Not that I did not want to go, I just had not made any plans in time. Well things changed about 4 weeks before the rally. I was out with some friends and one asked if I was going. I told him no and he asked me to go. Come to find out, another one of our friends whom I had not seen in a while had booked a house and they had plenty of room. Without hesitation, I was in!
A small group of us met on Thursday at a QT station. We had one vehicle going. We were fee to put in our bags so they would not be on the bike. I opted to just carry mine since I was already packed and ready. The group going down was a total of 6 bikes. A nice sized group. The weather was a bit warmer than I hoped for this time of year BUT since it had been raining for the past 5 days, I was just happy it was sunny (bike week started the prior Friday but it has been raining EVERY day). We left about 12:45 and it was pushing 86 degrees. Again, not complaining - it was sunny!
It was a great ride down. When we got to Conway, SC, we decided to stop and eat at a place called the Crafty Rooster. When we stopped, it was 92 degrees. We were hot and sweaty and hungry.

The wings were good and the beer was VERY cold. After an hour, we got back on our bikes and headed to the house. We all felt much better since we had full bellies and got a chance to cool down.
We got to our beach house around 5 or so. What a nice place. It is right on the beach in Murrells Inlet and is centrally located. We all parked under the house and unloaded our bikes. The vehicle had beat us there by at least 90 minutes. The car was already unloaded so we did not have to help with that. Once we unloaded our gear, we were able to take some time to enjoy the house.

Our house for the weekend at bike week.
The folks that booked this house did an EXCELLENT job! Right on the beach. A pool. And only a short drive to all the bike week activities. We did not even take time to make our beds - we just dumped our stuff and headed out for the activities.
Now I am a Myrtle Beach Bike Week virgin. Never been for this event so I relied heavily on those I was with. Luckily most had been here multiple times and knew exactly where everything was. We also had a guy who was VERY familiar with everything myrtle beach (I think he lived here for a while). So once all the gang was here, we headed out.
The first night we hit up a famous hot spot called Suck Bang Blow. We had to drive about 10 minutes south of us to get to the area that had MANY bars/music venues. Those familiar with South Carolina know that you do not need to wear a helmet. I also wear my safety gear (helmet, jacket, pants, etc). Well, this time I did not. I did not want to carry it and I did not want to leave it on my bike. What a strange feeling. I did enjoy the ability to talk to other bikers which I have never been able to do with my helmet.
The first thing I noticed while riding to the venue was the number of bikes. I cannot describe what it is like...they are EVERYWHERE. For the first time, bikes on the road significantly out number the cars. This makes me feel a bit safer as well. I think many folks in cars just avoid all these areas because of the bikes and the congestion.
When we got to the venue, it was not that crowded. We found an area where we could park (we had to pay) but there were bikes all over the place. We tucked up by a building.

From here it was a quick walk across the street to Suck Bang Blow. I had never seen anything like this - throngs of people and bikes. There is a bar there but for bike week, there are vendors, all over the place and a lot of other open air bars. There is a burn out pit and a stage with bands playing It was crowded but not that bad. They had girls putting on a show and over all chaos. The band that night was pretty good. But it was hot. We were sweating like pigs so we finally found a spot near a bar and the girls but underneath a huge FAN that kept us very comfortable.

Suck Bang Blow
We stayed until the band quit (about 11pm). Once the music was gone, the place really emptied out. We regrouped and decided to head over to another bar/venue with music called The Causeway. We hopped back on our bike and headed that way. The nice thing about this place is it is right around the corner the house we were staying in.
We arrived at the bar and realized that everyone else had the same idea. We were able to find parking across the street. That is the one nice thing about a motorcycle....you can park it just about anywhere since it takes up such little space. We parked and headed over to listen to the music.

The Causeway at Myrtle Beach
As the night progressed, we actually ran into a number of folks from Charlotte and our motorcycle group (Assembly CLT). Had no idea many of these folks were there and it was great running into them. About 1:30. the band stopped playing and the bar began to clear out. A little after 2am, we left for the house. When we got there, someone had ordered pizza so we all sat up for a bit eating (and some drinking) before finally heading be bed. I think this first night, I fell asleep about 3:30am. What a day and introduction to Bike Week.
I will admit this...the bed was not comfortable. Not a big deal as I am used to those types of situations. The only issue is that I was awake at 6:30-7. So I got up, had coffee and ate a protein bar for breakfast. It was not that bad. The views to the beach were fantastic and since it was so early, it was quiet.
Eventually others began to wake up. We did have a mission. One bike was having an audio issue. We decided to head over to the Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson dealer to see if we could get it fixed. After cleaning up, we got to the dealership a little after 10 am. The place was packed! We decided to walk around and what a setup they had. Tons of vendors for everything form audio to faring to lights. What a setup. We found a place and ate a quick bite (a delicious sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich). Once we ate, we found a vendor to fix the bike.
While we waited for the repair, I wondered around the vendors, etc. looking at what they had. I was pretty surprised by the variety offered. I wanted to get a t-shirt but the prices were a bit too high (I realized that if I wait until the last night, the prices will go down). Eventually the bike was fixed and my friend was extremely happy with the result - just not the price - lol.
From here, we went back to the house to hook up with others. We then headed over to place called the Beaver Bar. This is really close to Suck Bang Blow. Again, tons of very cool vendors and music. We stayed for the afternoon and then went back to go out to dinner. We gathered the gang and headed over to the Dead Dog Saloon. We were able to find parking easily and get in with no trouble. Very surprising since we needed a table for 8. This place is quite large.
The service was good. One issue is that inside, it was hot. We have been sweating outside all day dealing with the heat. Last thing we needed was to sweat while we ate. We ordered cold drinks and food. The beer was fine but the food was not very good. Some like it what they got, some did not. I could only eat a few bites and just gave up. Oh well.
After this, a group wanted to go to the Beaver Bar (yea, the one that some of us just visited). Why not. We had fun there. We all got on our bikes and headed over there. That is when the shit show started. The traffic was backed up forever trying to make that left turn where all the bars are located. Someone who knew the area decided to bypass this traffic and come in a back way. We did bypass all that traffic but on the main road that takes you to the bars, the traffix was at a stand still.
Keep in mind that it is humid and hot. Luckily my bike is water cooled but the Harleys are not. The heat from the engines was getting to our legs and for some, really getting warm. Also, the bikes were starting to over heat. Finally we got to a road where we could find parking. At the end of the road, we found a lot. We all pulled in and at least one person had to shut his bike off due to overheating. This lot was a LONG way from where we were going. There were just so many people and bikes. We talked and decided to head back to The Causeway. We circled back up and drove over there without any more traffic issues.
When we arrived, parking was easy. We finally were able to get off the bikes and head inside where it was finally COOL! We got a table and spent the rest of the evening listening to music and enjoying ourselves. When we decided to leave about 1am, our bikes were split up so I left by myself. Since I was less than 2 miles from the house, I did not even use the GPS. Take a left at the light until you see the house. Simple and easy!
The house we were staying at is one of about 12 and they all look EXACTLY alike. I could not remember the house number but we did have a white truck parked in the driveway. So I just looked for a white truck. I saw it, pulled in, and proceeded to the front door. I tried the access code probably 10 times. Each time it failed. I figured I just got some numbers screwed up. Frustrated, I tried the knob and it was open so I walked in. I looked and realized, wrong house! Yup, I was at the wrong house. I walked back out and another bike pulled in and asked why I was at the wrong house! LOL
We then made our way to the correct house. What a mistake I made! I guess I should never be left unsupervised. Once home, we chilled for a while since we were wide awake and eventually hit the sack.
I woke up early again. Had coffee and enjoyed the view from our balcony. I mean this house really has a nice view.

I really enjoy the early morning and just sitting on the deck with my coffee. Eventually others began to wake up. One objective for today is to meet up with another group of riders from Charlotte from Assembly CLT. They were staying far north of Myrtle. We decided to meet up at Bubbas Fish Shack. Well, since I am not from here, everyone was calling it Bubbas. So I texted the crew and said to meet at Bubbas.
We all rounded up and headed to Bubbas. One thing I did not realize is that it is VERY close. We just need to turn right out our driveway and drive a few miles. On our way there, we got behind a few cars and motorcycles. Now the speed limit is 30. Well some dumbass biker in a group in front of us got impatient and decided to use the sidewalk as a passing lane. He was on a bagger. He took off down the sidewalk and the idiot decided to dart back in traffic over the grass (not a driveway) and there was a small hump. He hit that thing and the backend flew up. It popped open his bags spewing the contents all over the road. His rear end flew up so high, he was essentially riding only on his front tire. Lucking he did not have a passenger of they would have been ejected to god knows where. He did not wipe out (luckily) but what an idiot.
After all that excitement, we got to Bubbas. We got a table and one for our friends riding down. Well we did not realize that there are two Bubbas within miles of each other. Yup, we went to one and they went to the other...lol. We did get this all straightened out. We ate lunch and they ate but we never met up. LOL.
We then decided to head over to Spokes and Bones. Both groups would head over there. So we wrapped up lunch and headed out. It was early and parking was very easy. This place was pretty cool. Again, tons of vendors and a really nice band area.

Our friends friends finally got up with us and we really had a nice time enjoying the music and their company. We stayed for quite a while before someone suggested that we move on to the Rat Hole. They do a motorcycle rodeo. Interesting indeed.

Once we had our fill, there were an number of folks that had never experienced Suck Bang Blow. Yup, we were heading back there. We rounded everyone up and headed back over there. Luckily it was still early in the day so the traffic was not too bad. Again, we went in the back way. We were able to easily find parking in a lot very close so we all piled in.
We walked over to the venue. There were a ton of folks there already.

The area around Beaver Bar and Suck Bang Blow
We stayed until it got dark and many folks had gotten enough of the crowd, etc. and were ready to leave. They were heading back to North Myrtle. We said our goodbyes and many of us decided to head over to The Bowery.
The ride up there was very easy. No traffic and parking was a breeze. The bar was quite nice. It is a country type bar but I really enjoyed it. They served food but I just wanted a hot dog. Luckily right around the corner was a greasy spoon that called Peaches Corner. They specialized in hotdogs and burgers. Perfect!

Peaches Corner - hotdogs and hamburgers!
I got a Carolina dog and ate it on the beach. Great hot dog. A bit pricey but did not care. Once I finished my hotdog, went back to the bar and hung our with my friends. We linked up with some others there at a table and had a nice time listening to music and talking. Unfortunately, one of the folks we rode with had to much to drink, did something really stupid and got kicked out of the bar. Since we rode with him up there, we felt like we should ride back.
We left and headed back to the house. Once there, we were up while until we got tired and then hit the sack about 1 or 2am. We wanted to leave early to avoid the traffic. I was up at 6. We wanted to leave at 7. I packed and at 7:05 we headed out.
The ride home was quick. I did not have any issues until I got about 20 minutes from home. I was really tired. I got home safely. Parked the bike in the driveway, went inside, laid on the couch and slept for 2.5 hours. I was spent.
Once I woke up, I unpacked the bike and finally put it in the garage. What great weekend and cannot wait to do it again with my friends.
