Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2026

Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2026
Myrtle Beach Bike Week Spring Rally 2026

Another year, another spring Myrtle Beach Bike Week! Unlike last year, the weather was absolutely perfect (MBBW 2025 was HOT!). There was no rain and the temperatures were VERY pleasant.

Like last year, a group of us rented a house in Murrells Inlet. Actually, it is the exact same house as last year. On the beach, with a pool, and very close to all the activities. This central location makes it very easy to get to all the happenings of bike week.

The group staying in the house all met up at a local Circle K gas station so we could ride down together. The ride down to Myrtle Beach is actually quite simple and does not require getting on any interstates. Riding down was a bit uneventful and after about 90 minutes, we took a stretch/bio break. What was interesting was that we picked up a straggler. We noticed a new bike had starting riding with us.

During the break, the new rider recognized one of the bikes and talked with David (one of the riders in our group). I did not know the person but his bike was packed full like he was going on a 6 week trip. I have never seen a Harley with so much gear. During the break, it was mentioined that there is a Buc-ee's nearby. Many of us had not been to one (including myself) so we decided to stop there. It was only about 20 minutes away.

The new rider said he knew a "shortcut" to the Buc-ee's so he injected himself into the front of pack (but not as gracefully as we would have liked). I will admit, in the beginning, he was a bit confused as we were going through some interesting neighborhoods but eventually we got on this really nice winding back road. The ride was unexpectantly quite peaceful.

Soon the landscape began to change as we got closer to the interstate AND the Buc-ee's. Remember, I have never been to a Buc-ee's. We stopped at the one in Florence. This is not the largest Buc-ee's but it is one of the busiest. This place is HUGE. They have a specific traffic pattern to get into (and exit) the place. There was over 120 gas pumps at this place. Most needed gas so they pulled in, filled up, and then all gathered around one pump to park and go inside (it was shady).

First time at Buc-ee's

This place is like the DisneyWorld of convenience stores. They have it all. I had already eaten but many in the group wanted food. I had heard that their food is very good. They had BBQ (pork and brisquet) sandwiches that looked delicious. They have the largest selection of beef jerky I have ever seen. They even sold hunks of it by the pound! I wandered around for a bit and decided to get a small sticker and some bannan pudding (it was pretty good).

Once back outside, everyone gathered to eat their sandwiches. There was a Harley dealer across the highway so the straggler we picked up wanted to get a picture. He rode over there while we were getting ready to leave. Not sure why he decided to wait on going over there right before we were getting ready to leave (we were there about 45 minutes). Getting over there would be a pain in the ass so we loaded up and just headed straight to the house at the beach.

We arrived at the beach house around 5-6pm. We unloaded, grab our rooms and settled in. I got the upstairs room with two queen beds and shared with David. He has the same sleeping habits as me. More notably, we both get up really early! Once we got settled in, made our beds, etc, time for a drink and hang out on the balcony before dinner.

The view from our balcony.

When we arrived, the temperatures was cooler than we expected - around 70-72 degrees. Great riding weather. Once everyone was settled in, we decided to head over to The Causeway. This is a big hangout for bike week once everything else starts to shut down. When we arrived, parking was easy. Parked right up front and the place was not busy at all. We got a big table for all of us. We ordered food and drinks since we were all a bit hungry. The one thing I did not like about this place is that they would not split the bill. When you have a group of this size, it is easier to split up the bill but they would not accomodate. We made it work.

As it got later, more and more bikes began to filter in. Finally we all decided to head back to the beach house. We all parked together and started to gear up. David has a kick start and while he was trying to start it, his throttle cable broke. Oops. So we took all the gear off and started to fix his bike.

At first we thought the cable actually broke. As we took apart the throttle, we realized that the cable did not break but rather the ferrule on the end of the cable (which attaches to the throttle) came off the cable. He has an older bike (early 70s). It is a strange design. First we had to remove the very tiny set screws on the ferrule and try to get the cable to feed into the very tiny hole. After many attempts, we finally got the cable in and the set screws set. Now all we have to do is attach it back to the throttle assembly.

Then we realized that you have to thread the cable through the bottom throttle bracket BEFORE attaching the ferrule. Yes, many curse words. We took the ferule back off, threaded it through the assembly and attempted to put the cable back in the ferrule. Oh, did I mention that the highly important and really tiny ferrule screws were dropped not once, not twice, but THREE times. Yes, we found them.

We finally got the cable threaded in the ferrule and the set screws tightend down, we started working on re-attaching the throttle assembly. We were missing a screw. After getting multiple people involved to search for it, we found it about 10 feet from the bike. Whew! We got the throttle back together and David began trying to start his bike. When it is cooler, it is hard to start so instead of kicking over and over, he got someone to give him a push start. It started and finally we geared up again and got on the road.

Once back at the house, we decided to go for a swim. The pool is heated (supposedly). Well, if it is heated, it is not very hot. We did go swimming but it was a tad cold AND the temperature outside was at least 60. Lets say it was refreshing. After drying off and putting on some warm clothes, we hung out on the balcony until I finally called it quits and went to bed.

Friday morning both David and I got up early and decided to go eat breakfast (nobody else was up yet). There was a restaurant that now serves breakfast about a 1/4 mile away called the Conch Cafe. We walked over and were pleasantly surprised since they have an outdoor covered patio right on the beach.

Breakfast on the patio at the Conch Cafe

We ordered breakfast and the food is very good. The prices are good and the service was excellent. We had a very nice and filling breakfast sitting next to the beach. After we finished eating, we decided to walk back on the beach. When we go back, some of the folks were up and wondered why we did not wake them up. Yea, right. I do not think they realize how early 6:30am really is...LOL. We told them we would take them up Saturday morning to go eat.

Once everyone was up, we decided to head over to the Harley Davidson dealership. They had a lot of things going on for Bike Week. We left about 10am and headed over to the dealership. They had the typical Bike Week setup. Music, vendors, etc all around the dealership. Parking was pretty easy as there is a lot next door. We walked around and browsed until everyone was hungry for lunch. We contacted everyone else and told them we would head over to Bubba's Fish Shack. We ate at this place last year and really loved the food. So we headed over there and had lunch. After lunch, we made a quick stop to Spokes and Bones. This venue is literally around the corner from the house. We were there for a bit and folks wanted to make sure we hit up The Beaver Bar and Suck Bang Blow. Parking can be a bit difficult with all the bikes but we did manage to find and area down the side road from The Beaver Bar. Not too far of a walk.

Parked down the road from The Beaver Bar.

We walked up the The Beaver Bar first. Usual bike week things. There was a bike sound competition going on. We watched (or should I say listen) and then made our way to all the vendor tents. We wandered around a while and decided to go down the street to Suck Bang Blow. Jackyl would be on stage at 8.

After arriving, we found a good spot close to the stage and after about 20-30 minutes, Jackyl hit the stage. We watched for about 35-40 minutes and decided to take the stairs to the upper part of Suck Bang Blow. The burnout competition was already over but it gave a nice view of the place. Many folks were tired and we decided to head back to the beach house (it was getting late).

After getting to the bikes, we were gearing up and it happened again. David's throttle cable broke again. Since we had done this twice before, we knew what to do. This time it only took us about 30 minutes to get it apart, ferrule threaded, and back together. It fired up and off we went.

At the house, we ordered pizza and sat outside on the balcony. There was not going to be any swimming tonight. We learned. Damn water is cold. It was geting late so some of us headed off to bed.

The next morning, got up early again. Made some coffee and sat out on the balcony. Slowly people were getting up. Some of use were sitting on the patio waiting but at 815, announced were heading out to breakfast at 8:30.

We left a bit later (8:30) and a good group of us walked down to the Conch Cafe. We were seated ouside again. We all enjoyed a great breakfast. We walked back to the house and were heading over to a Vintage Bike Contest. I am not sure what area it was but it was a pretty cool setup.

We watched as many more bikes rode in. Many entering the contest and many just there to hang out. We got some lunch and enjoyed looking at all the bikes. After beeing there for 3 hours, we decided to head over to Spokes and Bones.

They always have bands playing on the main stage. We decided to go get a beer. What is unique about this place is that there is a bar underneath the stage. We headed over there to get a cold beverage.

Spokes and Bones speak easy under the stage.

Another interesting feature here is the French Quarter. In the back, there is a section that is very laid back. It is in the shade with a small pond and stage.

The Frech Quarter stage

It is really nice sitting back here. Lots of tables and chairs, food, and bars. We got seats near the waters edge and listened to the bands.

The events were starting to wear some of us down (me - as seen in the photo). We stayed until the bands stopped playing at the Frech Quarter and we all decided to get some dinner. Back to Bubba's Fish Shack we go (its close to the house and great food).

After we got done eating, a few of us went on a ride around the area. We did find that the area where The Causeway was located was all shut down. We think a water main broke as the entire area was flooded. After riding around for a bit, we decided to head back to the house. Here we sat outside on the balcony and talked and drank until finally hitting the sack.

We got up early and were packed and out the door around 8am. The idea was to ride over to Buc-ee's and get breakfast. Heard that have a great breakfast food selection. We wanted to get a an early start since most rental units require everyone out by 10am. This could create a definate traffic issue. So we cleaned up the house, packed our bags, and got ready to leave.

We got started close to 8am. We were riding along in a group of around 8 bikes when we lost two of them. We decided to pull over at a produce stand and wait (seems someone really needed a bio break). After pulling off, they had a port-a-jon so the rest of us took advantage of it.

The lost crew found us and off we went to Buc-ee's. We arrived in time to get breakfast and gas up. Since we were their before, we did not take a lot of time wandering around the store. We were more interested in getting food, gas, and getting back on the road.

Breakfast at Buc-ee's

It was a bit warmer on the way back home so we congregated around one gas pump while eating our food. Once everyone had filled up, we continued on our way. We decided to head to our starting spot since it was centrally located. Once we arrived, we chatted for a bit before departing. Many of us go in different directions to head home.

This was another great trip for bike week and hope to do it again next year with the same group of folks.
